Our Beliefs

We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.

  • The Scriptures

We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God. By the Holy Bible we mean that collection of 66 books from Genesis through Revelation, which as originally written, is the very Word of God (II Tim. 3:16-17). By “inspiration” we mean that the books of the Bible were written by holy men of old as they were moved by the Holy Spirit in such a definite way that their writings were supernaturally inspired and free from error, as no other writing ever has been, or ever will be, inspired (II Pet. 1:21).

Therefore, the Bible is, and shall remain to the end of the age, the only complete and final revelation of God to man; the true center of Christian union; and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds and opinions should be tried (I Cor. 2:13; Mark 12:26,36 & 13:11; Acts 1:16).

  • The Trinity

We believe that God is Spirit (John 4:24) and infinite in every excellence; that the God-head eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and these Three are One God (Mark 12:29), having precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections and worthy of precisely the same homage, confidence and obedience (Matt. 28:19,20; II Cor. 13:14).

We believe in the Trinity and in the unique work of each of its Members.

  • The Person and Work of the Father

God, the Father is pictured in the Scriptures as being enthroned in Heaven. He sent and gave the Son to be our Savior (Jn. 3:16). He sent the Holy Spirit to be our Comforter. He draws sinners to Himself and keeps the saints from falling. He is the Giver of every good and perfect gift; He is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort (II Cor. 1:3); He may be seen in and known through the Son (Jn. 14:9,11,16); He is to be loved, worshiped (Jn. 4:23), obeyed and feared.

  • The Deity and Virgin Birth of Christ

We believe in the absolute Deity of the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ: that He was divine as no other man can be, being very God of very God, existing from all eternity (Jn. 1:1,2), coequal with the Father and the Spirit; that in His humanity He never ceased to be God and that His humiliation did not consist of laying aside His deity (I Tim. 3:16), that as man He was miraculously begotten of the Holy Ghost (Matt. 1:20) and born of the virgin, Mary (Is. 7:14).

  • The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person (Jn. 14:16-17), the source and power of all acceptable worship and service, and our abiding Comforter and Helper (Jn. 15:26); that He is equal with the Father and the Son and of the same substance and nature; that He convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment, bears witness to the Truth, and is the agent of the New Birth; that He guides, teaches, witnesses to, sanctifies and helps the believer (Rom. 8:16); that He indwells every true child of God (Rom. 8:9); that with Him the believer is endued with power (Acts 1:8) and sealed in Christ until the redemption of the purchased possession (Eph. 1:13-14).

  • The Person and Work of Satan

We believe that Satan was once one of God’s highest created beings (Eze. 28:14-17); that through pride and ambition he fell (Is. 14:12-15); that he is the god of this age and the prince of the power of the air (Eph. 2:2); that he is the implacable enemy of God and His Christ, and the accuser of the brethren; that he is the author of all false religions (II Cor. 11:13-15); that he is destined to final defeat at the hands of Jesus Christ (II Thess. 2:8-11); and that he shall be cast into the Lake of Fire forever and ever (Rev. 20:10).

  • Creation

We believe that God created the heavens and the earth, including all life, each after its own kind, by a direct act and not by the process of evolution (Gen. 1:2; Col. 1:16-17; Jn. 1:3).

  • Creation and the Fall of Man

We believe that man, originally created in the image and after the likeness of God (Gen. 1:26), fell from his high and holy estate by eating the forbidden fruit, and as the consequence of his disobedience, the threatened penalty of death was then and there inflicted so that his moral nature was not only grievously injured by the fall (Gen. 2:17), but he totally lost all spiritual life, becoming dead in trespasses and sins (Eph. 2:1-3) and subject to the power of the devil (I Jn. 3:8).

We believe that this spiritual death, or total corruption of human nature, has been transmitted to the entire race of man, the man Christ Jesus alone excepted (Rom. 5:12- 19); and hence, that every child of Adam is born into the world with a nature which not only possesses no spark of divine life, but is essentially and unchangeably bad (Jer. 17:9), being at enmity against God (Ps. 14:1-3); and is incapable of subjection to His law (Rom. 8:6, 7).

  • Salvation

We believe that, owing to this universal depravity and death in sin (Rom. 3:23), no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless born again (Jn. 3:3-5). We believe that our redemption has been accomplished solely by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 1:7), Who was made to be sin for us (II Cor. 5:21).

We believe the whole human race is covered by this provision until the person comes to the age of accountability (Rom. 5:15-21). Therefore, all children who die in infancy are covered by the blood of Christ and are therefore saved (II Sam. 12:22, 23).

We believe that Christ is received by repentance and faith alone (Acts 17:30), and that the moment we trust Him as our Savior we pass out of death into everlasting life, sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus (Eph. 2:8,9; Rom. 3:24).

We believe that all who take Christ as Savior are born from above and are eternally secure. They are forever kept by the power of God (Jn. 10:28, 29).

  • Sanctification

We believe that sanctification is the separation and dedication of a person or object to and for God, to belong wholly to Him and to be used for His glory. In relation to the believer there is:

    • Positional Sanctification — which takes place at conversion and is instantaneous (I Cor. 6:11).
    • Progressive Sanctification — which is a continual process throughout life on earth, a work of the indwelling Holy Spirit. It includes the yielding of life, a pruning process, chastening, growing in grace, abounding in love and a godly walk, bringing every thought into captivity and to the obedience of Christ (I Thess. 5:23).
    • Entire Sanctification — which will be experienced by the believer at the coming of Jesus Christ when he shall receive a glorified body like unto Christ (Phil. 3:20, 21)
  • Eternal State of the Righteous and the Wicked

We believe that the souls of those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation do at death immediately pass into His presence (II Cor. 5:8), and there remain in conscious bliss until the resurrection of the body at His coming (Rev. 14:13), when soul and body reunited shall be associated with Him forever in the Glory (Phil. 3:20, 21).

We believe the souls of unbelievers remain after death in conscious misery (Luke 16:19-26) until the final judgment of the Great White Throne at the close of the Millennium, when soul and body reunited shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, not to be annihilated (Rev. 20:11-15) but to be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power (II Thess. 1:7-9).

  • The Second Coming

We believe that Jesus will come back to remove His children from the world before God begins a period of judgment called the Tribulation. We believe the church is universal, including everyone, regardless of nationality, who loves and trusts Jesus.

  • Israel and End Time Events

We believe that God entered into a personal covenant with the Nation of Israel (Ex. 24:3-8). It was through this nation that God worked to bring to the world a revelation of Himself (Rom. 3:2), and to provide a Redeemer for the world (Jn. 4:22).

It was because of their national unbelief and rejection of Christ that God has temporarily set them aside as a nation during this dispensation. During this time, God is calling out a people for His name, the Church. This new people is not an extension of the Nation of Israel, but is an entirely new creation (I Cor. 10:32; Rom. 10:1). This is a mystery revealed to the Apostles and Prophets by the Spirit (Eph. 3:3-5). In God's time, however, He will again gather Israel as a nation into their own land, and He will begin to work with them on a nationalistic basis (Eze. 37:21-28; Amos 9:11-15). It is to this nation that Christ will return and establish His worldwide Kingdom for 1000 years (Rev. 1:7; Matt. 25:31).

We believe in the bodily, personal, and premillennial return of Jesus Christ (I Thess. 4:13-18) and that He will come before the sevenyear Tribulation Period to catch away His Church, and that He will come with His Church at the close of the Tribulation to judge the living nations and to set up His Kingdom (Matt. 25:31-46; Rev. 19:11-21). After Christ's Millennial Reign, the wicked dead shall be raised for the Great White

    Throne Judgment (Rev. 20:11-15).

  • The Church

We believe that the Church, which is His Body, is composed of all who are united by the Holy Spirit to the risen and ascended Son of God (Eph. 2:22,23); that by the same Spirit all believers are baptized into one body (I Cor. 12:13), whether we be Jews or Gentiles; and thus, being members one of another, we are responsible to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, rising above all sectarian prejudices and denominational bigotry, and loving one another with a pure heart fervently (Eph. 4:1-6).

We believe that the local church (I Cor. 1:2; I Thess. 2:14, Gal. 1:1-3) is a company of regenerate persons, committed to meeting together (Heb. 10:25), baptized on a profession of faith in Jesus Christ; united in covenant for worship, instruction, the observance of the Christian ordinances, and for such service as the Gospel requires; recognizing Christ as their supreme Lord and Lawgiver (Gen. 49:10), and taking His Word as their only and sufficient rule of faith and practice in all matters of conscience and religion.

The present task of the church is to present the Gospel of Christ to Jews and Gentiles everywhere. In doing this, we share in God’s work as He calls out the ”remnant according to the election of grace” (Matt. 28:19-20) and prepare the nation for the time when the Redeemer shall come out of Zion and all Israel shall be saved (Rom. 11:23-27).

  • Baptism & Communion

We believe that Christian baptism is the believer’s immersion in water (Acts 8:36-39; Matt. 3:6; Jn. 3:23) into the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, to show forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem our faith in and our identification with the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life (Rom. 6:3-5; Col. 2:12). In scriptural order it (baptism) precedes the privileges of church membership and is the public recognition of the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Lord’s Supper is an ordinance and not a sacrament (Luke 22:1-20), that is to be shared in only by those who are consciously in fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ by faith. The Lord’s Supper shall normally be served to the assembled church by one of our pastors or some other person authorized by the Board on the first Sunday of each month or at such other time as may be decided by our Pastors and Elders. All who have been born again by God’s grace through faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross, and who are sound in doctrine and sound in life, are welcome at His table (I Cor. 22:23-26).

  • Last Commands of Jesus

We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ, being Head over all things to the Church has left the following commands:

    John 13:34-35

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

    Matthew 26:26, 28

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body...For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”

    Matthew 28:19-20

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.

    Mark 16:15-16

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”

  • Biblical Sexuality and Marriage

We believe God, through His design and clear prescription in His holy Word, instituted marriage between one man and one woman as the foundation of family and the basic structure of human society. We believe that God created man and woman as unique biological persons who complete each other in marriage. Gender is not simply a human choice or a cultural construct, but a Divine gift that is woven unmistakably into creation at conception. Therefore, all sexual expression is reserved for enjoyment, procreation, and the protection of the purity of the “one-flesh” union of marriage. Sexual behavior outside of monogamous marriage is contrary to God’s design and is therefore sin.

    Genesis 2:24; Leviticus 18:22; Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9; 1 Corinthians 7:1-5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8; Hebrews 13:4
